Dr. Nguyen earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Michigan-Dearborn. She then earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Midwestern University, College of Pharmacy Glendale. She has also worked in the HIV/HCV co-infection clinic providing patient education, treatment adherence and case management. She is an assistant clinical professor at University of California –San Francisco School of Pharmacy, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Nguyen is accredited as an American Academy of HIV Medicine Practicing Pharmacist and is a team member in the Department of Health and Human Services Patient Safety and Clinical Pharmacy Services Collaborative. She has presented at preeminent liver conferences, including a coauthored abstract at HEPDART 2013.

Dr. David Lintz attended Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency at Wilmington Medical Center in Wilmington, DE. He completed his fellowship and PhD in Infectious Disease at New Jersey College of Medicine in Newark, NJ. He is board-certified Infectious Disease Specialist, in addition is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Clinical Tropical Medicine and Traveler’s Health, and American Academy of HIV Medicine. Dr. Lintz is a Clinical Associate Professor at St. George’s University School of Medicine and formerly a Clinical Associate Professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, NJ.Dr. Lintz has over 30 years of experience in clinical practice specializing in infectious disease and travel medicine, served as an investigator of clinical research, and serves as the Medical Director of the Hepatitis/HIV co-infection clinic.

Alan J. Stein, MD joined AHF in 2013. Prior to that, he was Chief of Infectious Diseases at The Brooklyn Hospital Center from 1991-2000, and then in private practice. He is the Medical Director of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation Healthcare Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Stein has over 30 years of experience in the management of HIV. He became interested in the treatment of Hepatitis C after seeing the progressively devastating effects of that disease in his co-infected patients. He was an earlier adapter of treatments as they became available, including interferon peg-interferon, ribavirin, and first generation protease inhibitors. His current office practice, as it pertains to Hepatitis C, includes the treatment of mono-infected as well as co-infected Hepatitis C individuals using the new direct drug agents, as well as the non-invasive staging of the disease using transient elastography.

Dr. Shannon Hammer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and completed her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree at Nova Southeastern University. She has extensive experience in both retail and specialty pharmacy providing patient education and adherence counseling. She also serves as a mentor to pharmacy students as a Clinical Affiliate Assistant Professor for Nova Southeastern University. Shannon is credentialed as an HIV Pharmacist (AAHIVP) by the American Academy of HIV Medicine, a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist, and licensed as a Florida Consultant Pharmacist and Certified Immunizer.

Dr. Julia Torres is board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine.Dr. Torres was born in Puerto Rico, where she obtained a Medical Doctor degree at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine training with New York Medical College at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx.In addition, Dr. Torres also has experience in clinical research as a Principal investigator and sub-investigator. She has been involved in the care of HIV infected individuals for about 20 years.
